The largest car show the museum has ever held was the Antique Auto Club of Cape Canaveral's Celebration of Cars. On Saturday, March 22nd, well over 500 show cars, many from all around Florida and some neighboring states, came by with all ages, makes, and models of vehicles. Along with the show cars, several thousand spectators gathered to check out the fantastic display outside and inside the museum. It was a perfect weather day for our biggest-ever car show!
As in past years, Dennis Gage from My Classic Car was in attendance. In the two days before the show, he filmed two future episodes of two pairs of cars in the collection. We will share them with you when they are released. In addition to meeting guests, he picked his favorite car of the show: A 1963 AMC Rambler 770 two-door with a 287CI V8 and a Twin-Stick transmission.
The Southern Brevard Sharing Center was the charity selected by the club to receive donations to check out the museum collection. Through admissions and a donation from the club, over $10,000 was raised to support this important charity. Their mission is to help local individuals and families by providing basic needs services such as food, clothing, and rental assistance.
We want to thank the local AACA Cape Canaveral Club and all its members for their hard work. Shows of this size take tons of work, so we appreciate all the preparation and effort. DJ Big Poppa was excellent as always and is present at nearly every car show held at the AMCM. Thanks to Dennis Gage; we hope to see him next year! Lastly, thanks to all our outstanding AMCM Volunteers!
