Gallery Description

On Saturday, March 18th, the local AACA Cape Canaveral Region held its annual Celebration of Cars show at the AMCM. Despite a poor forecast earlier in the week, the weather was excellent for a show. This show is always a highlight for the year, made better with special guest Dennis Gage of My Classic Car. This is the second time Dennis has attended this show, and he was on hand throughout, taking photos and talking cars with everyone in attendance. His pick went to a well deserving 1962 Mercury S-55 Convertible. The Best in Show went to John Pellicone and his awesome 1969 Pontiac GTO.

Over 350 cars gathered, with this year's featured class of "Cars of the Thirties - Mild to Wild" including all vehicles manufactured from 1930 through 1939. Each entrant received one free admission to view the entire museum collection, with additional tickets for sale to the public on the day of the show. The museum was open from 10 AM - 2 PM for a $25 donation and was free for those 18 and under.

Another unique aspect of this year was the 1st Annual Outlaw Pinewood Derby. Held beneath our picnic shelter, adults of all ages could build and race using a relaxed set of rules compared to a typical derby. Thanks to the local Cub Scout Pack 285 and Robert Jordan for setting up and officiating this debut derby.
We want to thank the local Cape Canaveral Region AACA, including club president Glenn Barberio and past club president Walt Koz, for all the hard work to make this show such a success. Thanks to the show sponsors, Community Bank of the South, National Parts Depot, Auto Expo 95, Harbor City Animal Hospital, Harbor Auto Restoration, Charlie's Auto and Truck Repair, KKraft Cabinets, Spacecoast Plating, O'Reilly Auto Parts, Burger Inn, Brevard Auto Paint, Mauer Repair, Kayz BBQ and Steaks, and the great Past Gas Co. We look forward to having you and your club back for another amazing show next year. Here is a look at the event.
