The 2022 Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Palm Beach was an outstanding event, made even better with the results from our 1986 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible Donation car. This vehicle was paired with a 2009 Ford Shelby GT500 Super Snake from the George Shinn Collection.
Together these two vehicles went on to raise $1 Million dollars for Franklin Graham’s Samaritan’s Purse and humanitarian relief efforts in Ukraine. They were purchased by Rick Hendrick, owner of Hendrick Motorsports. It was really a special moment, made even better by additional donations in the crowd. After the pair sold, additional $100,000 matching donations were made by Craig and Carolyn Jackson, George and Megan Shinn, Steve and Janie Davis, John Staluppi, John Rosatti and Sam Pack, as well as our Mark and Tetiana Pieloch. Michelle Mauzy added another donation of $50,000. All told, more than $1.7 Million was raised for Ukraine in just a few short moments.
We would like to thank Barrett-Jackson for all their efforts, leading up to and during the auction, for such a memorable charitable experience. They are truly a first-class organization, and we appreciate their focus on supporting needy causes. The money raised is going to Samaritan's Purse which is a nondenominational evangelical Christian organization that provides food, water, blankets, medical supplies, and hygiene kits during international crises.
