One of the three main principles of the museum is education. We have a couple dozen school tours each year for various groups and schools throughout Brevard County. Today, we hosted around 20 students from Bayside Lakes High School and their BLAST program. This unique program gives an opportunity for students to explore being an adult through real-life experiences and practice and refine those skills in both community and vocational settings.
We really enjoyed the enthusiasm the group had for everything the museum had to offer. If you are a local entity that has been approached to participate with the BLAST program, I would highly encourage you to get involved. After an hour-plus tour that included the maintenance shop, we provided lunch and some self-guided time walking around to get those photos of their favorite cars. Here are some photos from their visit.
