Video Description

Ed Dedick talks about two 80's compact performance cars, the 1987 and 1989 Shelby CSX. Starting with a Dodge Shadow, Carroll Shelby and his team in Whittier, California, would work their magic. Shock absorbers and springs were swapped, and disc brakes from the Daytona Shelby Z were also brought over. The turbo 2.2L four-cylinder engine made for 175 horsepower, which is substantial considering the highest-powered Mustangs and Camaros for 1987, only had 225.

In this video, Ed goes over the history of the three-year history of the CSX. These little known Shelby cars are two of the six Dodge performance Shelbys we have in the American Muscle Car Museum collection. For more on these, as well as all the other cars, check out AmericanMuscleCarMuseum.com
