2025 Rolex 24

The Rolex 24 at Daytona was held this past weekend, from 1:40 PM Saturday until 1:40 PM Sunday. Sixty-one cars from four different classes entered this year's race. At the top, you have GTP or Grand Touring Prototype, with the Porsche Penske Motorsport Porsche 963 winning the race overall, covering nearly 2,700+ miles over a twenty-four-hour period. These are the most advanced cars, with a combination of internal combustion engines and electric motors. Other vehicles in the class include the Cadillac V Series.R, the BMW M Hybrid V8, and the Acura ARX-06.
All entries in the second fastest Le Mans Prototype or LMP2 class were the ORECA LMP2 07 cars. These were running about three seconds a lap behind the fastest GTP cars. The No. 8 Tower Motorsports ORECA LMP2 07 won the class, covering 765 laps of the 3.56-mile track.
Next comes GTD Pro and GTD Classes. These cars are more similar to production cars and feature recognizable models like the Ford Mustang GT3, Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R, Porsche 911GT3 R, BMW M4 GT3 EVO, and the Ferrari 296 GT3. This pair of classes makes up most of the field, with fifteen GTD Pro entries and twenty-two GTD entries. Winners in GTD Pro went to No. 65 Ford Multimatic Motorsports Ford Mustang GT3, and GTD went to the No. 13 AWA Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R, with only four laps separating the class winners over twenty-four hours.
