2023 Amelia Island Concours

The AMCM has participated in the Amelia Concours for the past six years, now known as simply The Amelia. This was the 28th year for the event, which draws 250 historically significant vehicles worldwide, competing for awards in 32 different car classes. This year the museum brought our 1968 Shelby GT500 KR Convertible in Royal Maroon and competed in the Sports Car 3 class for vehicles produced from 1960-1972.
While the car received great attention, we were in a competitive class and didn't win an award this year. A beautiful 1965 Ferrari 275 GTS won our class, and a 1964 Apollo 3500 GT Spyder Prototipo won a class award. Congratulations to these deserving vehicles.
The winner of the Concours d’Elegance went to a 1935 Voisin C25 Aerodyne. It was first shown in October 1934 at the 28th Paris Salon de l’Automobile, and is one of six Aerodynes, four of which survive. The winner of the Concours de Sport went to a 1964 Ferrari 250 LM. This exact car won that race averaging 120.944 mph for 24 hours. This win would be the last time a Ferrari won overall at Le Mans. Today this car is owned by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum.
Special thanks to Hagerty, the Director of Event Communications, Chris Brewer, and all the great Volunteers who made this possible. It is a world-class event, and the AMCM was honored to participate again this year.
